CLACS offers competitive field research grants to support Ph.D. students at Brown University conducting research in Latin America and the Caribbean. These grants fund travel-based projects that demonstrate clear research questions, methodologies, and engagement with relevant materials or communities. While priority is given to students in the early stages of their doctoral work, advanced students are also eligible.
Grant recipients are invited to present their work at CLACS's Back from the Field poster session, which highlights the research of affiliated graduate students who received Pre-Dissertation Field Research Awards.
